Professional Career

Mascha Santschi Kallay joined our firm in 2018 as a counsel. After her studies with focus on business law at the University of Berne and her admission to the bar, she earned a doctorate in law from the University of Zurich with her thesis about the external communication of the judiciary. During law school, she worked as a journalist for different media enterprises.

After her admission to the bar, she started as a judicial clerk at the Supreme court of the Canton Lucerne. Due to her profound knowledge in media business she soon was responsible for the internal and external communication and media work of all the courts, the conciliation authorities and the bankruptcy and land registry offices in the Canton Lucerne. Since 2015 she advises companies, individuals, authorities and journalists on the intersection of law and communication. She is member of the Independent Complaints Authority for Radio and Television.

Areas of Expertise

Mascha Santschi mainly assists clients in the area of media law and in general civil law. She is specialised in strategic judicial communication (litigation PR), i.e. the communicative support in legal procedures which endanger reputation. Besides media law she mainly advises in real estate, contract and tenancy law.

Mascha Santschi regularly publishes in media law, real estate law and in the field of communication. She teaches media relations to lawyers and is active in the legal education of journalists.
